For some reason Alexios gets a lot of criticism about his voice acting and people make him out to be much worse than he actually is. If you really play the game as him he's really not that bad and is pretty likable and charming actually. He's got a few moments where he's awkward but that's also the case for Kassandra.
Hell, even if when Kassandra and Alexios both touch the Spear of Leonidas at the same time and they both have a vision they see together or something. Or, maybe Kassandra convinces him to at least hear her out about the Cult and you all three go on a quest together, and in that quest he starts realizing things and starts opening up more and

Kassandra and Alexios are hybrids (as identified in The Fate of Atlantis: Judgement of Atlantis). That is why they have these abilities when using the Pieces of Eden. Others have, correctly, pointed out the issues with calling them hybrids (i.e. DNA being diluted as generations pass), but canon states that they are hybrids.
Kassandra as Deimos is my 3rd favourite villain in the game (The first is The Ghost of Kosmos because she is such a good villain, I totally wasn't expecting Aspasia to be the mastermind of it all, while the 2nd is the Hunter from the DLC due to his high intelligence and mind games he plays with us)
The reason I always play Kassandra as the protagonist is because a) you spend more time with Kassandra than Deimos, so makes sense to have the better voice actor and b) the flat emotionless direction the Alexios actor chooses for Deimos works really well for a brainwashed sociopathic murder machine imo.
