I am a stats/econ major and that is one of the most common double majors. It's like that because stats and econ are both some of the shortest majors at UCLA so it's possible. Previous posters offered sound advice about the difference between a double BS/BA *degree* (150 credit hours) and a double *major* within the BA degree (120 credit hours). I would advise you to talk to the DUS in English (Prof David Alff, dalff@buffalo.edu ) who might even put you in touch with other students who are combining the two disciplines.

I plan on going into law school and becoming a lawyer and perhaps a law professor one day. I know it doesn’t really matter what you major in if you’re trying to get into law school, but which double major choice would prepare me best, while giving me a decent chance at employment in case I change my mind about becoming a lawyer?

In my experience (I'm doing a double degree in math and optical engineering) the only major differences are that I have to complete two separate capstones and had to make sure I had all the gen eds for each - they were slightly different, math required a biology class.
