Seminyak is for those who love the glitz and glam, with its upscale resorts and chic beach clubs. On the other hand, Canggu is the cool, laid-back cousin, known for its surfer-friendly beaches and hipster cafes.
There are more expensive restaurants in Seminyak, but there are also some cheaper ones as well. Legian and Kuta have more cheaper restaurants and warungs that are great to eat at. If you want to be closer to more up-market restaurants and shopping maybe stay in Seminyak. However, we find Seminyak the busiest out of the 3 locations and the Canggu, is really one big area split into three sections. The three main areas are along JL Pantai Berawa, JL Pantai Batu Bolong and JL Batu Mejan. Its a lot quieter than Seminyak but has a lot of upcoming bars and restaurants etc if that is your thing.
